Program Structure

Duration Minimum 1.5 Years (3 Semesters)
Maximum 3 Years (6 Semesters)
Mode Live online lectures with two-week campus immersion during Semester I and II.
Class Schedule Weekdays (after 5:00 PM) and Saturdays.
Residency Minimum two weeks during Semester I and Semester II.
Laboratories Hands-on laboratory sessions conducted during campus residency.
Free Elective One NPTEL course with approval from the Programme Coordinator.
Evaluation Written examinations, laboratory reports and project reviews.
Early Exit PG Diploma after earning a minimum of 26 Credits.
Future Scope Eligible to apply for the Ph.D. programme after successful completion of the Executive M.Tech.

Admission Information

Who Can Apply?
Working professionals (engineers, technologists, and managers) from manufacturing, automation, robotics, and allied industries seeking advanced skills in Smart Manufacturing, Digitalization, AI-enabled Manufacturing, Industry 4.0/5.0 and Intelligent Production Systems while continuing their professional careers.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Employed in an Industry or R&D Laboratory.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Employer sponsorship is desirable but not mandatory.
  • B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Material Science, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Smart Manufacturing or allied engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

Guidelines for M.Tech. Project

  • Projects will be executed in the respective industry.
  • Regular engagement of a faculty member from IIT Tirupati as a thesis supervisor is mandatory.
  • Students may approach any IIT Tirupati faculty member to guide the thesis in the chosen area.
  • The project should be presented and published at the end of the M.Tech. programme.
  • Evaluation of the project will be carried out as per the academic regulations and norms of the Institute.
